A lore bible explaining the different families of AKATSUKI, RYUSEITAI, and Ibuki.Keito's Home

Keito comes from a family of diligent Buddhists who run a temple up in the mountains. A set of lengthy stone staircases lead up to the temple and home. This temple is a common stop for both worshippers and casual citizens out on walks and jogs.
The Hasumi family often performs funeral rites for the deceased as a Buddhist temple. This familiarized Keito with the concept of death pretty early on, as he had to help out with funeral rites. They have performed funeral rites for the Tenshouin family for generations, and the Kiryu family's ancestral tomb is also at their temple.

As a child, Keito was made to help and come along with his family whenever there was a funeral. Keito also met Rei for the first time at a funeral home. Because of his family's work, Keito is not afraid of ghosts, although if put in a frightening situation, he responds appropriately.

The Hasumi family has a close relationship with their parishioners. One parishioner supplied them with seasonal fruit grown from their garden when it wasn’t fit for sale. Another powerful, influential parishioner, upon hearing from Keito’s parents that he was an idol, requested that AKATSUKI run a regional development project.
Good will is extended to their temple: upon request from Keito’s parents and brother, the local government of the region loaned a large temple for their project out of kindness.
After Keito plays the exorcist "Temple Boy K" in a horror variety show for Tomoya, the show boomed among the local kids. The temple became popular with kids (many of which are from the families of temple patrons), who would come by and play with Keito, and their parents look forward to seeing more episodes come out.

The Hasumi family is very open and hospitable with guests. Keito often plays host when other idols come to visit or stay, including preparing the beddings, meal planning, lending clothes, and drawing baths.
The Hasumi home is close to the Tenshouin home, so Eichi often called Keito to come over and keep him company. Eichi would also come over uninvited.
The Hasumi family’s work takes them around the country, and so Keito’s older brother collects vehicles for the temple to use.
The Hasumi temple has a soundproof warehouse built on the temple grounds as a practice room for Keito, given his interest in music. As playing instruments and singing would disturb monks' religious routines, this warehouse isolates all the noise.
They have a storehouse on the premises, which contains a haunted VHS tape, one of the Seven Mysteries of Yumenosaki.

Their temple also features pond. After Midori, Shinobu and Tetora host a live to find a home for an abandoned carp, Keito takes it in, and the carp lives in that pond.
The Hasumi family has been at odds with the Shinkai family for a long time over basic religious differences, so Kanata has been familiar with the Hasumi family before Yumenosaki.

Keito's Family

Keito has a mother, father and one older brother. Keito is close with his family. When Keito stepped away from the temple to focus on his idol career his family was very supportive of him leaving.
Although Keito’s family tends to leave him to his own devices without assistance, they are attentive to his emotional state, and look after him when he’s depressed or overworked. When Keito told his parents about his exclusive outfit, they wanted to show Anzu kimonos around their house for inspiration.
Still, Keito feels that he causes his family trouble for having come down from the mountains to be an idol. Eichi describes the Hasumi family as “surprisingly fiery” or melodramatically passionate.
Keito’s father is in charge of ceremonies from their temple.
Keito’s mother cooks for the Aois when Keito invites them to stay at his temple, and shows Anzu kimonos around their temple to help her find inspiration for his exclusive outfit.
Keito’s older brother helps manage the family temple. As the eldest brother, Keito's brother is the one to inherit the temple, and studies the field for that role. He acted as a role model for Keito when he grew up and would lecture and discipline him when necessary. Keito says that while he occasionally will ask for favors, he doesn't rely on his older brother often.
Keito’s older brother has an interest in cars, and so he collects cars and motorbikes for the temple to use. Kuro has seen his motorcycle and been impressed. Tsumugi describes him just as much of a lecturer as Keito is.

Souma's Clan

Souma comes from a wealthy background.
The Kanzaki clan has spanned centuries. Originally, his clan stemmed from the real life Genji (or Minamoto) clan. Souma's ancestors were the chieftains of the region during the Sengoku era. They are said to have exchanged correspondence with the Shinsengumi during the Bakamatsu era, and that artifact was burned in an air raid (likely during the Taishou era).
The Kanzaki family crest appears to be a kikyō, but the design of his crest is similar to the sasa rindō crest of the Genji Clan. The Kanzaki family crest appears on the back of Souma's Feature Scout outfit.

The Kanzaki family has previous involvement with the entertainment industry. They have helped consult on sword-fights with historical dramas like Vampire Shogun. Their horse Saigodon is trained to act, fall on command and is used in movies. Souma grew up alongside Saigodon, and considers them brothers running across mountains and fields together.

The Kanzaki family has a specific blade that has been passed down from generation to generation. This blade is a reforge of a blade that sunk in the naval Battle of Dan-no-Ura (壇ノ浦の戦い), a real-life battle between the Genji and Taira clans. This sword takes about a month and a half to maintain and sharpen, but they have a family friend who they go to for quick sword repairs.

Amongst their jurisdiction, the Kanzaki family have a private mountain left in their family for generations. This mountain is unmarked on maps, and utilizes subtle paths that Kanzakis can understand and navigate. The Kanzakis preside over the mountain, upkeep it, train on it, and hold ceremonies on it.

Following a childhood incident where Madara and Souma rescue Kanata from a kidnapping, the Kanzaki family gained modern prestige, influence and authority with the Shinkai family.
